Step One: What Characteristics Does Your Perfect Customer Have?
Start by making a list of the characteristics of your perfect customer.
· What are their likes and dislikes?
· What things do they value?
· What are their interests, likes and dislikes?
· What demographic groups would you put them in?
Don’t forget that you are competing for their attention and their money.
How are you going to become their preference over not just competitors, but also against other things that capture their attention and their money?
List your perfect customer’s spending habits and what other choices they have besides your products or services.
Step Two: Where Is Your Perfect Customer Spending Their Time?
OK. You’ve laid out a list what your perfect customer looks like.
Now it’s time to find them.
Where are they spending time on social media?
Who are they following?
Look at your fans and followers.
Do you see the same types of people on your social media?
If not, your marketing may not be attracting the right types of customers.
Understanding your perfect customers social profiles is also a key to reaching them.
Find out the type of help and assistance they usually search for and then be there as a solution then they need it the most.
Step Three: Look At Your Existing Customer List
Unless you are totally changing your business direction, many of your current customers should already meet your perfect customer description.
Ask them what caught their eye.
Did they hear a marketing message that resonated with them?
Survey what products or services they feel like you could and should provide.
Talking with your present customers is a great way to meet more customers just like them.
Once you complete these three steps you will be well on your way to attracting the right customers to your business with your marketing.
