If you have a brick and mortar store, chances are you wouldn’t locate it in a back alley, or hide what you are selling.
But when it comes to being seen on the internet, many business owners are hiding from their prospective customers because they don’t understand the basics of search engine optimization or SEO.
Wonder why you aren’t being found?
Let’s look at one of my favorite examples…SHOES!
Offering a variety of shoes online isn’t exactly a new concept.
In truth, thousands of other businesses small and large are doing it.
So it shouldn’t be that hard…or is it?
Let’s say you have the website up and ready… but where are the customers?
Why aren’t they finding you?
Don’t they want your products?
Are you missing the latest styles, colors or sizes?
Or maybe its just bad luck!
The Truth is Painful:
OK, can you handle the truth?
Chances are that they don’t even know you are there!
If you are like many of the small business owners dreaming of success on the internet, you probably never optimized your website for keywords and key phrases that that potential customers are looking for.
Those are the people typing “cheap shoes”, “shoe sales” and “shoe discounts” into their search boxes.
In the meantime, your website is using the words “Designer footwear on sale”, “Blahnik sale”.
There is a failure to communicate…a mismatch between what words people are looking for and what words you have on your website.
